ST MICHAEL’S ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The School Board is appointed at the Annual General Meeting each year to assist the school to achieve its goals for education.  In a spirit of co-operation the Parish Priest, Principal and representatives of staff, parents, and parish act as a forum for discussion on matters concerning the operation of the school.

  1. a) In this way the School Committee is a prominent sign of an educative community; which honours the importance, the richness and the responsibility of all participants, in particular the role of parents, in the education of young children
  2. b)  The primary task of the School Committee is to advise, assist and support the Principal and staff in the efficient management and development of the school as a Catholic School in accordance with the vision and educational goals of the school, parish and diocese.

ST MICHAEL'S PARENTS & FRIENDS GROUP

The Parents & Friends Group is a most vital and necessary organisation of any school, working closely with the school administration and staff.

The aim of our Parents & Friends Group is to do whatever is possible to help our children and school, by working to provide the best possible facilities for their education and comfort.

Meetings are held once a month (please contact the school office to confirm date and time).  The parents/ carers of all children attending the school are cordially invited to attend. As advised by the Principal, funds raised by the group is used for educational equipment and materials within the school.   The election of office bearers takes place at our Annual Meeting which is held in March each year.

We encourage all new parents/carers to come along to these friendly meetings and thus become a part of the school community.
