News from the Principal
Dear Parents, Guardians and Carers,
Firstly, thank you for your support in keeping your children home when they are unwell, we understand it is creating pressure at home, as it does at school when staff are staying away as well, but we know it is important, so that we can do everything possible to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and get back to ‘normal’. Because of this support we are finding that most of the positive cases have already been home prior to the result from the RAT which is helping to minimise the spread within our community.
The teachers at St Michael’s value the support of parents and are always willing to meet with you to discuss the progress of your child. Please be mindful that they are not able to talk to you during class time as they are teaching but would be available to meet before or after school either online or via a phone call. The parent teacher interviews being held next week are a great forum for starting the partnership between yourself and the teacher.
I know the limited access to see teachers face to face and have those incidental conversations hasn’t been easy for many of you. However, the resilience, independence and confidence your children are displaying is amazing. It is pleasing to see how well they have settled into school.
The link for Parent/Teacher interviews will be live tomorrow via PAM. We are setting up for the meetings using Microsoft Teams as currently there are still restrictions in place regarding face to face parent interviews. Thank you for your understanding in the change of date as we sourced an alternative online meeting platform for these interviews.
Staff also use their work email as a form of communication between school and home. If you feel it is necessary to communicate via email, we ask that you respect staff personal time. Parents should not send emails outside of work hours and expect an immediate response.
2022 Student Residential Address Collection
The Student Residential Address and Other Information Collection (Address Collection) is undertaken each year by non-government Approved Authorities and their schools.
The Address Collection collects the following data from eligible schools, for each location at the school:
- Student Residential address(excluding student names)
- Whether the student is a primary or secondary student (education level)
- Whether the student is boarding or a day student (boarding status)
- Names and residential addresses of students’ parent(s) and/or guardian(s)
Residential address information is used and combined with other data to calculate a non-government school community’s capacity to contribute to the costs of schooling. This may influence the level of Australian Government recurrent funding for non-government schools. The information is also used to inform Australian Government school education policy.
