Dear Parent, Guardians and Carers,
Each year the School Advisory Committee holds their Annual General Meeting (AGM) in accordance with the School Advisory Committee Charter. This year's meeting will be on Wednesday 15th September at 6pm.
You are invited to attend this meeting and parents of children attending St Michael’s can nominate to join the School Advisory Committee. This is a great opportunity to become involved to assist the school achieve its goals for education.
What is the purpose of the School Advisory Committee?
The School Advisory Committee is a group of volunteers established to;
- act as an advisory body to the principal on matters concerning education in the school
- act as a forum for discussion on matters concerning education in the school
- provide a link between the parish priest, principal, teachers and parishioners in relation to the provision of Catholic education in the parish community
- promote community development by fostering a strong inter-relationship between the parish, the primary school and Catholic secondary colleges.
What are the responsibilities of the School Advisory Committee?
The responsibilities of the School Advisory Committee are to:
- promote the Catholic ethos of the school
- provide feedback on and review of school policies
- plan for the future of the school and its ability to accommodate future enrolments
- provide advice on budget planning and finance-related matters
- contribute to the selection process for the school principal
- provide advice on the appropriate provision of faith development and Religious Education programs
- promote child safety in the school
What commitment is required?
Committee members are asked to attend and contribute to meetings held throughout the year, usually twice a term. Meetings are generally held mid-week at 6pm and run for approximately 1 hour.

Last weekend we celebrated our Fathers, Grandfathers and special people in our lives. I hope you made them feel loved and cherished with a delicious breakfast and plenty of quality time together. For those separated by this lockdown I hope you managed time virtually to celebrate how special they are to us all.
For families that are essential workers please complete your onsite intention form via the link below prior to Sunday 3pm when it will close. Any requests after that cut off time can be made to the school on Monday morning. Please remember to send through the updated permits as well.
