News from the Principal
Dear Parents, Guardians and Carers,
This year’s Mother’s Day is still being celebrated in the challenging circumstances of the coronavirus and we know that for some in our school community with family members interstate or overseas they are unable to physically be together. We offer a prayer today for all mothers and we give thanks for the love that they give every day of their lives. We think of those mothers no longer with us. We offer a special prayer too for mothers to be and for Godmothers and all who play a maternal role in our lives.
We usually hold our Mum and Me night in our school hall however, due to COVID density restrictions, we will again be unable to conduct it in this way this year.
Our school captains have been working hard to come up with an alternate plan and are excited to present “Mum/Special person and Me- Stay at home style”. Please check your children’s school bags on Thursday, as they will be bringing home this special version of our mum and me night for families to enjoy over the Mother's Day weekend. The pack will include a variety of activities that families can use to celebrate their own 'Mum and Me' night at home. There will also be a competition activity in the bag that families can complete and return to school for their chance to win a mystery prize. A very big thank you to our school captains who have helped with the creation of this project.
Last year, during the height of Lockdown, Drew Lane and Andrew Chinn from Butterfly House composed this song for Mothers, "You Were There", featuring images of mothers from Australia, New Zealand, the US and Canada. Please enjoy this reflection.
