News from the Principal

Dear Parents, Guardian and Carers,

Yesterday our grade six captains attended the Remembrance Day Service at the Traralgon Cenotaph as representatives of our school. Leila, Clementine, Tommy and Olivia have been outstanding ambassadors for our school throughout the year and we appreciate the commitment and dedication they have shown in their roles.

Remembrance Day is a solemn occasion observed each year to pay tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend freedom, justice, and peace. From the fields of Flanders to the hills of Normandy, from the skies above Britain to the deserts of the Middle East, the bravery of our soldiers is etched into the very fabric of history.

While Remembrance Day is a time of sombre reflection, it is also an opportunity to look forward with hope. The world has changed, and we continue to face challenges that test our resilience. However, the legacy of those who gave their lives reminds us that peace is not a passive state but an active pursuit. As we stand together in remembrance, let us also stand united in our efforts for peace. Whether through diplomatic initiatives, humanitarian aid, or simple acts of kindness, we each have a role in shaping a more peaceful future.

The challenges of today may differ from those faced by the soldiers of the past, but the need for peace remains as urgent as ever. Let us use this Remembrance Day not only as a time of reflection but also as a call to action—an opportunity to commit ourselves to the values of peace, tolerance, and cooperation.

MARKET DAY

On Friday, 15th November, our Grade 5/6 students will be hosting the annual Market Day Stall! This year, our goal is to raise much-needed funds for Catholic Missions. The students have been working hard, bringing their business ideas to life and preparing a range of exciting items for sale, along with fun games to enjoy.

All students are encouraged to bring some money on the day to support this wonderful cause. Every purchase helps contribute to the fundraising effort, so we hope to see lots of enthusiasm for our Market Day! Thank you for supporting our students as they put their creativity and skills into action for a good cause.

SUPERHERO DAY

Thank you for your support of Superhero Day. We had a great day with all sorts of superheroes arriving at school, including: doctors, firefighters, emergency service people, caped crusaders and even Jesus. The students spent some time recycling odd, old socks and turning them into something new and useful.

Congratulations to our school community .... together we have raised $383 towards our Catholic Mission Fundraising.

Thank you for the kind words and warm welcome as I returned to school after my long service leave. It is lovely to be back.

A huge thank you to Lia DiCorleto and Sharon Scholtes who did an amazing job in my absence.

Kind regards

Jodie
