St Vincent de Paul Visit
St Vincent de Paul Visit by Imogen and Nicolette
On Tuesday the 25th of June the Mini Vinnies team went to St Vincent de Paul to find out how they help people. St Vincent de Paul is a society known to help others when they need it. They provide food, toiletries and a place for people to come and eat food or meet new people.
What do they do
St Vincent de Paul provides all types of food that can last a while and they take not only food but other things like toilet paper, lollies, toiletries and gifts for around christmas time. They provide children’s snacks for them to take home and sometimes they even have fresh fruit for people to eat. They sometimes buy these foods but schools and people can donate some of their food for them to feed others.
Who do they help?
St Vincent de Paul doesn’t only help poor people but they help people who could be struggling through money problems or bills and they can’t afford food so Vinnies gives them hampers of food to feed their families.
What does St Michael’s do to help?
St Michaels students and staff members collect cans to donate to St Vincent de Paul and we give them at the Giving Mass.
