Dear Parents, Guardians and Carers,
What a wonderful day we had here at St Michael’s on Friday.
The Church was full of beautiful singing from our Foundation students at their Mass. The yard was abuzz with excitement with the Grade 5/6 Market stalls and being able to welcome the school community to the Art Show was a pleasure.
On behalf of you all I would like to thank the staff of St Michael’s who made such a day possible and also the 5/6 students for their creativity in preparing their stalls. They raised just over $2800 for the community in Timor Leste which was an amazing achievement.

A message from Bishop Greg about Shine the LIght on domestic violence:
https://youtu.be/KkdbZEUfJUw?si=QJs2SGheD3XsDQqq
In response to the Australian Catholic Bishop’s 2022-2023 Social Justice Statement Respect: Confronting Violence and Abuse, we can all be prepared to work towards ending domestic violence by listening to people who have been abused without judging or blaming them for the harm caused by another person.
Next weekend, parishes of the Diocese of Sale will be shining a light on domestic violence and praying for its end. Everyone is encouraged to wear white to mass, join together and make a stand.
St Michael’s Parish along with the Diocese of Sale is firmly committed to preventing domestic and family violence while simultaneously fostering a safe and supportive environment for all. Help us Shine the Light on Domestic Violence and join us for a special prayer service:

The gospel readings over the last few weeks are leading towards the season of Advent. They are about living life in response to Jesus’ message and preparing for the end of time. A feature of Christian faith is an approach to life that views the future with hope. Today’s gospel reminds us to be ready for what the future holds; to look with hope towards what lies ahead, but to ensure that we’ve prepared ourselves properly. The future can only be viewed with expectant hope if we’ve done the proper preparation! In our world today many people look to the future with distrust and even fear. As Christians, we look forward with hope. When change occurs, some allow that change to happen to them whilst others engage in the change process and approach it with hope and expectation. Today’s gospel reminds us to be ready for what the future holds; to look with hope towards what lies ahead, but to ensure that we’ve prepared ourselves properly. The future can only be viewed with expectant hope if we’ve done the proper preparation!
Each week students from each class are awarded Student of the Week certificates. These children are nominated for the example they have been within the school based on the School Wide Expectation focus for that week. The weekly focus will be from Wednesday until Tuesday the following week. Awards will be presented to students at assembly on Friday.
In Week 7 the School Wide Expectation focus is Resilience :
I view mistakes as a learning opportunity.
I persist through challenges and difficulties in my learning.
